Hireworks is looking for a Part-time Human Resource Generalist to serve our Maryland based client remotely in the DMV area. The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for various HR functions including compliance, compensation, benefits, leave, reporting, and administration of company policies.

The ideal person for this position will serve as a generalist but could have proven experience in one or more HR niches. To be a competent HR Generalist, you should be patient and compassionate, have excellent listening skills, and be able to multitask effectively. Candidates in the DMV area are preferred, but exceptional remote candidates will be considered.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • HR Compliance: – Perform HR compliance tasks as directed by the CEO. Understanding of federal and state laws.
  • HRISUtilized various HR systems including ADP, BambooHR, Employee Navigator, KTBS online, Paylociity and other HR systems as needed.
  • Benefits –  Assist employees with benefit programs and leave requests. Work closely with the
    CEO on the annual Open Enrollment period. Comply with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Employee relations – Perform employee relations functions as directed by the CEO including details and coordination of disciplinary discussions, terminations, and investigations. Escalate complex matters to the CEO when appropriate. Ensure professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.  
  • Other Duties as Assigned-This role is under supervision of the CEO and may require ad hoc tasks as directed by the CEO to meet customer needs.

 

Requirements: 

 

  • HR Generalist background. Other HR specialties are welcome.
  • Strong ability to multitask and remain calm in emergencies.
  • Superb conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to display integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient in HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Strong communication skills.

Technology Requirements:

This is a remote position and requires candidates to maintain reliable home internet,  cell phone, personal computer or laptop, and a quiet, reliable home office or remote work station.

Contractors will accrue the first month's compensation for days worked and will submit an invoice using bill.com on the 1st of the month after the first month. Invoices are paid 30 days after receiving the first invoice and will continue on a monthly basis.
